The Promise
The No Tears Promise has a public half, which is on every card, and a rulebook half, which is this page. Both apply to all four suits.
What the cards guarantee
- No betrayal, cheating or cruelty is written into any woman's story.
- Every card shows an invented adult in the 20 to 55 range, living on a grown-up's income and schedule; no one is ever written as younger than she is.
- Nobody plays a relative of yours, every premise is agreed by everyone in it, and no card is modelled on a real individual.
- Her own limits are listed on her card, and she sticks to them.
What players agree to
- You are 18 or over.
- Romantic or sexual text involving a minor, described or merely hinted at, is refused; the account can be shut for it, and no framing changes that.
- We stop any scene that rests on force, on the private life of an actual individual, or on hurting someone, however it is presented.
- Should you mention hurting yourself, she pauses the story and points to real help. Please take it.
How far a hand goes
Before anything explicit the page fades to black. That belongs to the site, applies on every plan and does not bend. The vet, the festival organiser and the other trades in this deck are characters: no one among them can advise you for real about your body, your contracts or your savings, and each will tell you so. For anything real, see a professional.
If a card turns bad
Tell us at the footer address. Anything that arrives is read, and an account that goes on disregarding these pages can be closed.
